Lots of people talk about it, we do something: Come in, feel green! This has been our motto since the first idea, to design this hotel as a smart building and to run it as sustainably and energy-efficiently as possible. Our hotel has state-of-the-art technology for innovative power and heat generation, with cogeneration plant, solar panels, state-of-the-art battery technology for energy storage, heat pumps, iWater for smart water management and AI control for energy management.
Our commitment to environmental and climate protection is great and we work every day to do even more and to become better. And, of course, our guests themselves can also make a contribution. There are lots of smart details and features that make up our V-Hotel:
We also have a lot of hotel laundry. At the guest’s request, towels are not changed daily in the V-Hotel either. This generally helps to save water and detergent and protects the environment. That’s not enough for us, we go one step further and work with a partner who rents us hotel linen and offers it in a climate-neutral way: Greif Mietwäsche.
The “rent instead of buy” business model is based on the reusable system. Rental linen and equipment that is no longer required is returned to the cycle. The textiles are repaired or sensibly processed through recycling or upcycling. A convincing thing, we think.
Save cash, the environment a lot ofCO2, water and cleaning agents and us some work! How it works? In the case of a stay of several days, you will be credited a bonus of € 5.00 per day on which you refrain from “making your room” (excluding the day of departure).

Sustainable hotel management is part of our mission. Since the opening of the V-Hotel in 2014, we have saved a remarkableamount of CO2. We are very proud of our intelligent energy system with its own power plant, solar system, battery and water system!
New additions in 2023 include two high-performance heat pumps. And thanks to innovative thinkers, we are always well advised and always getting better.

native forests protected
Together with our partner woodify, we focus on innovative ideas in climate protection! We are pleased to be the first hotel to enter into this partnership. woodify shapes sustainable forest conservation in Germany and has won our full trust through transparency and scientific expertise. By the way: Team-woodify is also from Bonn!
What you as guests get from our cooperation? They practice forest protection virtually in their sleep! Because we protect one square meter of native forest for your stay at the V-Hotel – and that directly in NRW. Our goal: We want to protect at least 10,000 sqm of forest this year for the next 30 years – support us!
Our toilet paper from Goldeimer is made of 100% recycled paper and has quite a story to tell, because numerous statements adorn each individual roll. But they are not the only ones that encourage us to think and rethink. The toilet paper is produced in Germany from recycled waste paper with low consumption of water and energy and a remarkableCO2 saving. It is mineral oil-free, chlorine-free bleached and Blue Angel certified.
By the way, the packaging is also very impressive. It is made of 15% chalk and 60% recycled plastic. More “hui” than “pfui” here at the V-Hotel thanks to the non-profit company Goldeimer from the Viva con Agua family.
From the very beginning, our V-Hotel was designed to be sustainable: When converting the former ruin of the “Haus der Jugendarbeit”, we preserved the reinforced concrete building fabric and saved around 416,000 kg ofCO2 by avoiding demolition!
The existing building gave us the layout and size of the rooms. Through a clever hotel concept, efficient use of space, smaller extensions and a lot of attention to detail, we have created a very individual four-star feel-good place for our guests and our team from the former ruin.

Die Kaffeebauer von Rapunzel sind wahre Kaffeehelden. Sie sorgen für eine blühende Biodiversität und ein artenreiches Ökosystem in den Anbaugebieten. Dank intensiver Pflege der Kaffeesträucher, sorgfältiger Handarbeit und der besonderen Auslese der Bohnen entsteht feinster, biologischer und 100% fair gehandelter veganer Kaffeegenuss für unsere Gäste.

Das Graspapier beziehen wir von creapaper aus Hennef. Ein Unternehmen aus der Region, nur eine halbe Stunde von uns entfernt.
Diese Homepage wird mit 100% Ökostrom durch unseren Host betrieben. Das Versprechen: “Wir setzen auf regenerative Energie. Der Strom unserer Rechenzentren stammt zu 100% aus Wasserkraftwerken, die den strengen Kriterien des TÜV SÜD entsprechen. Wir leisten damit einen Beitrag zum Umweltschutz – mit Ökostrom ohne klimaschädlichen CO2-Ausstoß oder radioaktiven Abfall.”
Seit der Eröffnung unterstützen wir unsere Mitarbeiter und bieten unserem V-Team ein Job-Ticket zur Nutzung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel an.
Praktisch, dass die Bushaltestelle direkt vor unserer Hotel-Tür liegt und so auch für unsere Gäste gut nutzbar ist.
Von 2019 bis Juli 2023 leisteten unsere Gäste durch eine klimaneutrale Übernachtung im V-Hotel Bonn einen eigenen Beitrag zum Klimaschutz. Aber was bedeutet das? Klimaneutral ist eine Übernachtung, wenn der CO2-Fußabdruck der Übernachtung nach international anerkannten Standards berechnet und mithilfe von Emissionszertifikaten ausgeglichen wird – zum Beispiel über ClimatePartner. Seit Anfang 2023 haben wir uns entschieden unseren Fokus auf aktiven Schutz der heimischen Wälder zu legen und bieten den Gäste hier eine Möglichkeit, sich zu engagieren.
Unsere Gäste der Baumhäuser und Suiten können den ersten Bio-Kaffee des Tages direkt auf dem Zimmer genießen. Für diesen Genuss haben wir jetzt auf umweltfreundliche, klimaneutrale Kapseln ohne Aluminium und herkömmliches Plastik umgestellt. Sogar gartenkompostierbar sind sie – eine echte Innovation!
